April Favorites and Lessons

Hello y’all. I thought I'd do this fun thing each month, writing about a few things I am currently loving from the month before. I am not 100% what it’ll look like but thought I’d give it a try!

Pretty Little Liars

If you really know me, you would know I love Pretty Little Liars. I haven’t really talked about it since it ended in 2017. But I recently got HBO Max for a couple reasons but that being the main reason. It’s been really fun to watch it again. I kinda remember how it ends and bits and pieces from it but I don’t remember most of it so it’s like experiencing it all over again.

Having Sundays Off

I used to work every single Sunday. I went to church on Saturday nights so it wasn’t that big of a deal to have Sundays off. I started to go on Sunday mornings moving my availability and most Sundays that means I am off and it’s been nice. It’s been nice having a consecutive day off every week to recharge and just get prepared for the next week.

Demi Lovato

Another thing/person that I used to love and talk about all the time was Demi Lovato. I got away from listening to her after her newest album came out thinking that I didn’t enjoy the sound and just didn’t like the trajectory of life she was taking. I kinda just stopped listening to her with her music coming up every once and a while on my playlists. I decided to give her another shot and forgot how much I love her music. Songs like Warrior, Skyscraper but also Nightingale and Smoke n Mirrors are songs I kinda just forgot about. It’s been so cool to reconnect with her music and see that connection from younger Madison and Demi.

I need time with God.

One thing that I kind of learned heavily this month was how much I really need that daily time with God. There were a couple days where I just kept putting it off and off and then 2 days went by and I had an off day. I just got off and I did not feel right. I realized that I hadn’t spent time with God in days and basically I did that and things got better. Prioritizing this has been so helpful to me.

Music is a blessing but silence is okay too.

Whoa this one is huge. I don’t like silence. I really don’t. I hate the feeling it gives me and just nope. Nu uh. But I have started to slowly spend more time with silence. Whether that’s just 5 minutes when I get home from work where I don’t automatically put music on or watching something on my tv then turning it off and not automatically putting music on. I still don’t love silence but I can’t bear it a little more.
