Don't Follow The World

It is so easy to follow the world. It is easy to start by spending more time on social media then in your bible. I am guilty of that. I am guilty of following the worlds trends. Bu that I mean trying to look a certain way or trying to make myself look better than others. The world is so appealing sometimes you just want to bite the hook and then you get drawn in.

I am not going to sit here and tell you that I have never walked the ways of the wicked or followed the world. Heck I was doing that just a couple weeks ago. Like y’all it is so easy to slip up and start following the world. Sometimes its nice to have temporary pleasure or joy. Like it really is. But the joy we get from God is so much more amazing.

The world is so appealing with its shiny new toys and clothes. It’s easy to think that following the world is the better option then follow God. Immediate pleasure, immediate gratitude, immediate gratification, it is all so tempting.

It’s easy to say “oh I wont fall into the world’s trap”. It’s easier said then done. Sometimes it happens slowly and when you realize it, you are so far into it that getting out is extremely hard. I think we all would be lying if we said that we haven’t fallen into the worlds trap. It’s so much more appealing and easier.

God loves both side of that. He loves the sinners and the wicked so to speak.

God gives those who love and follow Him immense joy. He will give you protection. He will not forsake or rebuke you. The wicked are those who follow the world or they follow advice of the wicked, stand with sinners, and join in with the mockers. These people do not have the eternal joy that God’s followers will have.

When we are living in the world, it is so easy to just go along with whatever the world is doing. It is easy to mock those being mocked or do what is easiest. But that is not what we should do, we should do as christ would do. We should helped and encourage the mocked, stand firm in the truth, and listen to the advice of the Godly.

When you follow God and not the wicked, you will have strong roots. They roots are roots of trees near the river bank, they are also fruitful. That is how we are supposed to be. We are supposed to be fruitful and strong. The only way we are is through God.

The people who follow world have roots as strong as chaff, or stray hay, scattered by the wind. It is not strong at all! This is important because most of the people who follow the world believe they are so strong. In reality, strength comes from where your roots are planted, which means if your roots are planted near a riverbank, then you will be strong. If they are like chaff, then good luck because they are super weak.

The wicked has no place among the godly. What I’m not saying is that they are below us. No! We need to still love those people and try to get them to come to closer to God. What I am saying is in heaven, those who followed the world will not be around the godly. These people will be condemned on their judgement day.

God will watch over His children. He watches over all of His children, but he will let the path of the wicked lead to destruction. It is not always what He wants, but if it’s how they will come to Him, He’ll let it happen.

God absolutely loves us to no end. He doesn’t want us to get hurt. He wants us to remember that we are loved and cherished by Him. Sometimes it may seem as though He’s left us, but that is not true. He will not leave or forsake us.
