“The flower that blooms in adversity... is the most rare and beautiful of them all.” -Mulan
I moved to Indiana right before my 5th grade year. When I moved here, I was known as the weird kid who was an outcast. I never fit in anywhere.
I still don’t fit in anywhere. That is something that I struggle with a lot. I feel like I don’t fit in. I feel like an outcast.
Y’all so did Jesus. He was an outcast too. Yes he had friends but He didn’t exactly fit in. He was ridiculed for who He was. Sometimes even His friends denied being His friends to keep from being ridiculed.
Maybe that is you. Maybe you feel like you don’t belong anywhere. Or maybe you don’t fit in. Maybe you’re different than everyone else. That is okay. You’re not the only one. There is a lot of people who feel that way. Even Jesus did.
We aren’t called to fit in. We are called to be the light of the world. We are called to be different. Maybe that means not belonging to one group of people. Maybe that means not really having friends because people don’t understand you.
You are who you are supposed to be. Even if that means not belonging. There is one place where you belong, and that is with Jesus. Even if you don’t belong with anybody here on earth, you belong with Jesus who is always there.
When you are there feeling all alone because no one is texting you or responding to your text, there is one person who will always answer your text and that is God. He’s always there. With Him, we do not have to be an outcast, we can belong.
