“There’s no shadow You won’t light up, mountain You won’t climb up coming after me. There’s no wall You won’t kick down, lie You won’t tear down, coming after me.”
Cory Asbury
“Reckless Love”
Most of you guys probably know this song. It was very popular a few months ago and every church was singing it and every christian radio station was playing it. Its a very popular song for very good reasons.
This song talks about God’s love. It talks about how there’s nothing that will keep God from coming after you. He will be there tearing down lies, kicking down walls, lighting up the shadows, and climbing up mountains. He will be there loving you. He’ll leave the 99 just to find you.
This reminds me of one of my favorite bible stories, the prodigal son. The basis of this is a rich fathers son told the dad that he wanted his whole inheritance. So the dad gave it to him. The son went and partied it up until he ran out of money. Then he became a pig farmer but was so disgusted by himself because even the pigs ate better then him, that he went back to his father.
When his father saw him, the father came running to him. The father embraced his son and had a party because his lost son was back. This was to represent us and God. There will be times when we shy away from God and think this is better than being with Him and leave. Then we will come to our senses and realize that’s not true and we will try to go back to God, but be thinking there’s no way God would ever take me back. There’s no way God would want someone like me back.
But the second God sees us coming towards Him, He runs to us! He comes just running as fast as He can because His lost child has been found. God will always come to us. We could be in the darkest valley and the second we call on God, He is there. We could be stuck on the top of a mountain and God will climb it just to get to us. If there’s a wall, He’ll kick it down. And if there is a lie, He’ll tear it down and show the truth.
God’s love is the most amazing feeling in the world because its reckless. He would do anything for us. He loves us so much that He would even give up His son for us! God loves us so incredibly much, more than we will ever know.
God’s love isn’t a shallow love. It's a passionate love. He loves with all His heart.
He loves you with all His heart. Don’t forget it!
Hold onto hope and stay strong.
