The Valley

Not My Image

It’s easy to be struggling and think that God has abandoned you. It’s easy to think that what you are going through is so rough that God wouldn’t even want to be with you. It’s easy to think you’ve done something that made God anger.

God will never leave you or forsake you. He is always there with you. He walks through the valley with you. He will always be there beside you. One of my favorite verses talks about this.

Even through the darkest of valleys, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me ~ Psalms 23:4

This tells us that God is there with us even in the valleys. I don’t know about you, but my valleys feel very dark and very deep. It feels like I’m drowning and will never get out of it. But God!!!!! He is there with you. He is walking beside you holding your hand and telling you that you are not alone and there is no reason to be afraid.

You will get through it. It may take time and thats okay. But God is always going to be there next to you. It sucks sometimes because it feels like He’s distancing Himself and that He’s not there. But the truth is that you are the one distancing yourself. I can assure that even in the darkest of valleys, God is there!!

“But my valley is too much dark and too deep.” Sound familiar. I know for me it does. Our valleys can be so vast it seems impossible that you will ever be able to get out of it. It’s easy to get in the mindset that this is how life is always going to be but thats not true! God is doing amazing things in your life. He would never leave you.

“I was doing so good. I was out of the valley but I’m here again. Why has God forgotten and left me?” Ah ha this is super easy to fall into. Why do I say that? I was just here thinking the same thing just a couple of weeks ago. But He has not left you. He has not forgotten you.

For the needy will not always be forgotten; the hope of the oppressed will not perish forever. ~Psalms 9:18

When we are out and down for the count because of our valley it is super easy to blame God. It’s easier to say that God forgot you then to say that God is allow you to go through this. But you are not alone. God is walking along side of you. Yes you are going through this and it royally sucks but you have the best comforter in the world right beside you.

The valley stinks. And sometimes it feels like you will never get through this. But I assure you that you will. You will because you have God on your side.
