Today I got a new tattoo. This tattoo is really special to me. It says “In your darkest night, you are lovely” and “this is the last night you’ll be alone”. Both of these are lyrics to songs that mean a lot to me.
If you read my story, the song The Last Night should ring a bell. This is the song by Skillet that God put on a pop station a night I was going to commit suicide. This song means so much to me and I could not be happier to have these lyrics on my arm!
The other lyrics are from a song called The Grey by Icon For Hire. This is one of the first songs that I heard from them. This song has a lot of lyrics that I resonate with and I loved the bridge. The full bridge says “in your deepest pain, in your weakest hour, in your darkest night, you are lovely.” But that would have been a lot of words to try and put on my arm and you can’t make it too small because the letter could bleed together. This is one of my favorite songs.
These are the two songs that I chose to have my first song lyric tattoo of. Now if you know, words are very important to me. Words of affirmation is my second love language, being topped by quality time. Words hold a lot of power. Songs hold a lot of power. Music is really important to me.
I could not be happier with the way my tattoo came out. The font and spacing is perfect! I am in love with it!!
